The Shreveport Mudbugs (2-3-1) were upended in OT, 3-2 to the Odessa Jackalopes Saturday night at George’s Pond in Hirsch Coliseum.
The Bugs got off to a better start than they did last night as Austin Brimmer rifled home his first tally of the season at 9:59 of the opening period to give the home team the early 1-0 lead. Connor Gatto earned the only helper on the game’s first goal. Both teams had their chances as the Bugs led in SOG, 13-7 after one.
Shreveport lengthened their lead at 8:47 of the 2nd period when Tim Khokhlachev threw a shot from the right point which pinballed its way into the back of the net for his first goal of the year to push the Bugs lead to 2-0. Jacob OnStott and Johnny Hallard earned the assists.
