Jacks Close Down the Bugs

Nov 12, 2017

The Shreveport Mudbugs (12-4-1-1) got unlucky in overtime and fell to the Odessa Jackalopes, 2-1 Saturday night splitting their two-game set.
The Bugs and Jacks were both kept off the scoreboard in the 1st period. Gustavs Grigals stole the show with 16 saves in the period to keep the game scoreless after 1.
Trailing 1-0 midway through the 2nd period, Jordan Fader deflected a puck in front for his fifth goal of the season. The tally from Fader tied the game up at 1 at the 12:37 mark of the middle frame and was assisted by Dominick Procopio and Cam Cook. It was a 1-1 contest after 2.
The game stayed tied at 1 after the third period sending the game into overtime.
Odessa would score the game-winning goal on a freakish bounce off of Jack Clement’s skate and into the back of the net giving the Jacks a 2-1 win over the Bugs.
Gustavs Grigals made 42 saves to carry Shreveport to a hard earned point.
The Mudbugs get three out of a possible four points in Odessa.

The Mudbugs will host these very same Jackalopes for a two-game set starting next Friday night, Nov. 17th at Georges Pond. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:11pm for both contests.
