Ice Dogs Bite the Bugs

The Shreveport Mudbugs (10-4-1) gave up four unanswered goals and dropped a tough one against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, 4-2 Friday night at the Big Dipper Ice Arena in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Shreveport sizzled the scoreboard in the 1st period when Brendan backhanded home a beauty for his first goal of the year to give the Bugs 1-0 lead at 15:14 of the opening period. The Mudbugs would put another tally up just 23 seconds later when Jake Transit slipped a puck past the goalie in front for his second goal of the year. The Mudbugs would take 2-0 lead into the locker room after one period of play.
Fairbanks fired back in the 2nd period three unanswered goals to lead Shreveport, 3-2 after two periods of play.
The Mudbugs would be stuck in reverse in the 3rd period as they couldn’t develop many scoring chances and the Ice Dogs would put the game away with another goal at 17:44 of the period.

The Mudbugs and Ice Dogs will conclude their series tomorrow night at the Big Dipper Ice Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 10:30pm CT. ​
