The Shreveport Mudbugs (14-7-1) rallied back from a third period deficit to beat the Odessa Jackalopes, 4-3 and earn the sweep at Ector County Coliseum Saturday night.

SHV got on the board early on the PP at 2:35 when Logan Heroux hammered home his seventh goal of the campaign from the right point through traffic to give the Bugs an early 1-0 lead. Wil Murphy and Ryan Burke earned the helpers on the game’s first tally. ODA led in SOG, 10-9 after one.

The Mudbugs got another goal on the PP at 1:15 into the second when Kyan Haldenby ripped home his fifth goal of the season from the slot to extend the SHV advantage to 2-0. Nick Marino and Colin Vassallo picked up the assists. The Jacks roared back with a pair of PP goals of their own as Hayden Demars tucked in a goal at 3:08 and Michael Kadlecik fired in his fifth to suddenly even the score, 2-2 at 19:09. SOG were tied 20-20 after two.

After Odessa scored in the first minute of the third, the Bugs found themselves trailing for the first time in the game, 3-2. SHV rallied back at 11:35 when Ryan Burke snapped in his ninth tally from the slot to tie the game, 3-3. Hayden Nichol and Brayden Cook earned the assists. The game would stay tied until Haldenby came through again at 16:29 off a perfect feed from Nick Marino and shot in his second goal of the game from the short side to give the Bugs the lead back at 4-3. Marino and Liam Fleet picked up the “apples” on the game-winning tally. SHV held off a furious surge from the Jacks including a shot in the reigning seconds which Odessa through went in, but after further review, it was ruled no goal.

Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau earned the win in the cage making 27 saves on the night.

The Bugs will head back on the road to begin a three-game series next weekend against the Corpus Christi IceRays. Game 1 will be Friday night at 7:35 p.m. from the American Bank Center.
