Dorfman Gets into Goalie Fight as Bugs Split Series with Brahmas

Oct 22, 2023

The Shreveport Mudbugs (8-5-1) fell into a deep hole and couldn’t recover falling to the Lone Star Brahmas, 6-3 in front of another packed house at the Nytex Sports Centre Saturday night.

Lone Star got off to a blistering start to the game as Brock James jolted in a goal on the PP at 10:05 of the opening period to give the home team an early 1-0 lead. LSB would add to their lead at 11:54 as Charlie Masek slapped in a rebound in front to make it a 2-0 contest. The nightmarish opening period wouldn’t stop there for SHV as the Brahmas would get one more before the horn at 19:58 when Kyle Isenburg would power home his first goal of the year from the RW circle pushing the lead to 3-0 for LSB. Lone Star led in SOG, 12-1 after one.

LSB added another at 14:00 of the second as Matyas Borak banged in his fifth goal to push the Brahmas’ lead to 4-0. The home team netted another PP goal at 19:14 to make it 5-0.

Ryan Burke had a pair of goals along w/ Alex Park netting his first, but it wasn’t enough as Lone Star closed out Shreveport, 6-3. Carson Dorfman and Deivs Rolovs got into a goalie fight in the contest which didn’t last long, but was great drama in another testy affair in this rivalry series.

The Bugs will continue their longest road trip of the season next weekend as they’ll see the Colorado Grit for the first time ever beginning next Friday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. CT from Greeley Ice Haus.
