Nov 3, 2018

The Shreveport Mudbugs (8-7) were unable to hold a lead going into the third period and dropped a 3-2 decision to the Amarillo Bulls Friday night at the Amarillo Civic Center.
Amarillo got on the scoreboard early once again when Alex Peterson shot in his eighth goal of the season at 3:39 of the 1st period to give the Bulls an early 1-0 lead. The Mudbugs killed a 5-3 penalty kill after the goal and were unable to convert on two powerplays of their own. Amarillo led in SOG, 15-11 after one period of play.
The Mudbugs exploded out of the gates in the 2nd period as Jay Feiwell was able to go down the length and drive the net and backhand home his third goal of the year just :22 seconds in. Ethan Harrison and C.J. McGee grabbed the assists and the game was tied 1-1. Then it was Jack Jaunich who stayed hot and went coast to coast and drilled home his 2nd goal in as many games at 13:15 – unassisted to give the Bugs a 2-1 lead. Amarillo led in SOG, 35-18 after two periods of play, but the Bugs took advantage of two spark plays to grab the edge.
The Bulls rallied back in the 3rd period when Peterson deflected home his 2nd goal of the game at 3:39 to tie the game up, 2-2. Amarillo then scored the eventual game-winning goal at 10:11 when David Ojamae fired home his 3rd goal of the season in the slot to make it a 3-2 Bulls lead.
Maiszon Balboa made 43 saves in a tough luck loss for him snapping a personal three-game winning streak.
