Bugs Fall to Wilderness

The Shreveport Mudbugs (4-2) couldn’t find much puck luck and fell to the Minnesota WIlderness, 3-0 Saturday afternoon to conclude the 2019 NAHL Showcase.
Both teams traded scoring chances in a scoreless first period. Both teams failed to capitalize on two PPs each. Shreveport out-shot Minnesota, 9-6 after one period of play.
Wilderness opened up the scoring in the 2nd period as Brady Hunter scored off a steal and slipped it in at 6:33 to give Minnesota a 1-0 lead. Wilderness out-shot the Bugs, 11-9 in the period. Overall shot totals were 18-17 in favor of Shreveport.
The Mudbugs couldn’t get much going in the third period when Minnesota scored goals from Jacob Herter and Tyler Watkins EN tally to seal up a 3-0 victory over Shreveport.
The Bugs go 2-2 in four games in the NAHL Showcase.

The Mudbugs will be back on the road again as they’ll take on the Amarillo Bulls for a two-game series. Game 1 of the series will be next Friday night from the Amarillo Civic Center with puck drop scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ​
