Bugs fall to the Road Runners in game two of three

Apr 8, 2017

The Mudbugs fell behind early in the 1st period before Dominick Procopio wristed an innocent shot from the point that found its way in the back of the net for his first goal of the season tying the game up at 1 after 1 period of play.

Shreveport gave up a fluky goal early in the 2nd, but responded quickly when Eriks Zohovs slammed home a juicy rebound for his 15th goal of the year assisted by Kyle Kawamura and Jordan Fader. The game stayed tied at 2 after two periods of play, but Andrew Lane was hurt after a head shot from Topeka in the middle of the ice causing the medical staff to carry him off to the locker room.

Topeka scored two goals in the 3rd period as Shreveport couldn’t recover. Lane didn’t return to the game and his injury update is unknown at this point.

The RoadRunners win the game, 4-2 and send the Bugs to their third straight loss.

The two teams will back at it tomorrow afternoon at 2.
