Bugs Drop 1st Game of Regular Season

The Shreveport Mudbugs (3-1) dropped their first game of the season by a final score of 3-1 to the Janesville Jets Thursday night at Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, MN.
The Bugs opened up the scoring at 7:50 when C.J. McGee put an innocent shot from the near circle and it rung off the far post and into the net. It was McGee’s 3rd goal of the season. Jets came back at tied it at 14:04 and it stood a 1-1 contest after the opening period of play.
Both teams traded quality scoring chances in the 2nd period, but neither squad could score. Shreveport out-shot Janesville 26-13 after two periods of play.
T.J. Sagissor scored twice for Janesville and put the Jets up 3-1 and the Mudbugs just couldn’t solve goalie Garret Nieto since scoring the game’s first goal.
Shreveport dropped their first game of the season.

The Mudbugs will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they play their third contest of the NAHL Showcase taking on the Kenai River Brown Bears at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, MN. Puck drop is scheduled for 2 p.m. You can listen live on Mudbugs YouTube page.
