SHREVEPORT, LA- On Friday Night, the red-hot Mudbugs took on the Corpus Christi IceRays in a hard-hitting South Division tilt. Tensions brewing as the roster for the Bugs looked relatively new coming into the contest as, Duke Ehrhard, Mitchell Reid, Owen Case, Eli Shulman, and Logan Pruim were suspended early in the week for their involvement in Amarillo.
The Mudbugs jumped out to a first period lead with Markuss Saviels scoring his first Mudbugs Goal at 10:17, then Jonah Jasser extended the lead at 02:31. From there, the Bugs never looked back, as a three goal Second Period further extended the lead to 5-0 at the end of 2. The goal-scorers included Chase Secriskey, William-Alexis Tremblay, and Evan Hoglund. From there the third period only saw one goal but lots of fisticuffs and penalties. 54 total PMs in the third-period. Antoine Cormier put the icing on the massive cake as the Bugs won 6-0 and bettered their record to 10-1-1 and staying in first place of the South Division. Kristers Plepis who was in between the pipes stopped 20 shots faced out of 20.
