The Shreveport Mudbugs drafted nine players in the 2019 North American Hockey League (NAHL) Draft Tuesday afternoon.

The brain trust of the Mudbugs coaching staff and scouting department in Head Coach Jason “Soupy” Campbell, Goalie Coach Rich Parent, and Director of Scouting Mike Grattan worked in their warm room so to speak and felt good about this year’s draft class.
“It was a good draft for us, we fell short on a few, but got bigger and better at the end of the day” said Coach Campbell.
Shreveport is looking to return more players this year than last season’s overhaul from the 2017-2018 Robertson Cup Championship squad.
The Official list of all the players who were drafted by the Bugs are as follows:

1. (1st Round -15th Overall) Sam Miller, D (5.11, 179) — Milwaukee, Wisc., Muskegon Lumberjacks

2. (2nd Round) Adam Conquest, F (6, 185) — Milford, Mich., Cowichan Valley Capitals

3. (3rd Round) Kennedy O’Connor, D (6, 184) — Springfield, Mass., Loomis Chaffee PS Pelicans

4. (4th Round) Tamirlan Gaitamirov, D (6.3, 218) — Astana, Kazakhstan, Fargo Force

5. (5th Round) Dilan Peters, D (6, 215)    — Sarnia, Ontario, Aurora Tigers
6. (6th Round) Ryan Sorkin, C (5.08, 153) — Chicago, New Jersey Rockets

7. (7th Round) Quintin Loon-Stewardson, C (5.09, 164) — Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Battlefords North Stars

8. (8th Round) Josh DeLuca, F (6, 156) — Livonia, Mich., Youngstown Phantoms

9. (9th Round) Vyacheslav Nilov, F (6.01, 176) — Ryazan, Russia, Louisiana Drillers

The Mudbugs will get a deeper look on what next season’s team could look like at main camp taking place at the Arctic Edge Ice Arena in Canton, MI.
