Bugs Win Streak Snapped by Topeka

Sep 29, 2017

The Shreveport Mudbugs clawed out of a big hole in the 3rd period, but fell short to the Topeka Roadrunners, 3-2 snapping their five game win streak.

Trailing 3-0 in the 3rd period, Jack Clement drilled home his first goal of the season off a perfect pass from Brendan VanSweden to make it a 3-1 contest. VanSweden then did it all by himself causing a turnover in the offensive zone and rifling home a beauty for his first tally of the year and second point of the night.

That would be the closest the Mudbugs would get as Emil Gransoe made 27 saves to get the win in nets for Topeka.

The Bugs and Roadrunners will be back at it tomorrow night from the Kansas Expocentre. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm.
