Mudbugs Fall to Lone Star

The Shreveport Mudbugs (20-5-2-2) dropped their first game in regulation since Oct. 27th losing to the Lone Star Brahmas, 3-0 Friday night at the Nytex Sports Centre.
Lone Star grabbed the first goal of the game at 8:51 of the 1st period when Aidan Spellacy scored on a breakaway. Brahmas led 1-0 after the opening and SOG favored Lone Star, 9-5.
Shreveport and Lone Star traded good scoring chances in the 2nd period, but no scoring occurred. The Mudbugs leveled the SOG with the Brahmas, 21-21 after two periods of play.
The Mudbugs kept the game close until the Brahmas scored two late goals to put the game away, 3-0.
This was the first regulation loss for the Shreveport since Oct. 27th ending a thirteen game stretch.

The Mudbugs will be back at home tomorrow night to welcome in the Amarillo Bulls for the first game of a two-game set in Georges Pond at Hirsch Coliseum. It’ll be Teddy Bear Toss night with puck drop scheduled for 7:11pm. ​
