Mudbugs Beat the Jackalopes

The Shreveport Mudbugs (12-4-1) used a pair of goals from Kieran Durgan and timely goaltending from James Durham to skate away with a 5-3 victory over the Odessa Jackalopes Friday night at Ector County Coliseum.
Shreveport sizzled the scoreboard first when Cameron Cook backhanded home his 6th goal assisted by birthday boy Alex Spencer at 8:20 of the opening period. The Bugs led 1-0, but gave up two goals after that from Odessa and trailed 2-1 after 1.
The Bugs responded quickly with goals from Jake Transit and Kieran Durgan in the first 3:11 of the middle period to rapidly put Shreveport ahead again, 3-2. James Durham was sharp in net making 20 saves through 2.
Odessa fired back early in the third period with a goal tying the game up again at 3. The Bugs showed a lot of character once again as Durgan tipped home his 2nd goal of the game at 11:41 of the period to give Shreveport the lead back 4-3. Andrew Lane & Gueorgui Feduolov got the assists on the tally. It was then Cole Quisenberry who put the icing on the cake tapping in an empty-bet goal for his sixth goal of the year giving Shreveport a 5-3 victory over Odessa.
James Durham was good in net with 28 saves to pick up the win.
Shreveport improves to 10-2-1 lifetime against Odessa.

Shreveport and Odessa will conclude their two-game set tomorrow night at Ector County Coliseum. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:11pm.
