Bugs Take the Jacks

The Shreveport Mudbugs (13-4-1-1) got some home cooking from new and returning faces to get by the Odessa Jackalopes, 4-2 Friday night at Georges Pond in Hirsch Coliseum.
The Mudbugs struck first blood just 2:40 into the game as Zach Faremouth roofed his first goal of the season on a brilliant pass from Brendan VanSweden to give Shreveport an early 1-0 edge.
Shreveport sizzled the goal lamp when Gueorgui Feduolov tipped home a perfect pass from Dominick Procopio on the powerplay to give the Mudbugs a 2-0 lead just 29 seconds into the middle period. Odessa answered back with a PP goal of their own at 11:32 cutting the Bugs lead to 2-1 after two periods of play.
Odessa tied the game 2-2, but it was Kieran Durgan on the powerplay who was able to slip one past the Jacks goalie for his fifth goal of the year giving the Bugs, a 3-2 lead at 12:35 of the 3rd period. Jordan Fader would put the icing on the cake tapping in his fifth tally of the year at 19:59 to close out a 4-2 victory.

The Bugs and Jacks will conclude their two-game set tomorrow night at Georges Pond in Hirsch Coliseum. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:11pm. ​
