BUGS SHUTOUT WILDCATS IN WICHITA

Mar 25, 2017

Dyllan Lubbesmeyer was the man of the night for Shreveport as he had 30 saves to earn his second shutout of the season as the Mudbugs beat the Wichita Falls Wildcats, 4-0 Friday night at Kay Yeager Coliseum.

With the win, the Bugs moved up to 71 points in the South Division maintaining a four-point lead over the third place Corpus Christi Ice Rays. The hockey boys from Shreveport have now won three games in a row and eight of their past eleven.

Shreveport was led by Lubbesmeyer’s brilliant night between the pipes as he stopped all 30 shots faced at him to earn his second shutout of the year.

Erik Zohovs led the way in scoring as he had a goal and an assist on the night. Brendon Gysbers fired home his sixth goal of the year on the powerplay. Gueorgui Feduolov followed it up with his second goal in as many games as he rifled home a juicy rebound past Wildcat’s goalie Evan Moyse.

Jay Feiwell added an empty netter goal at 19:01 of the third period to put the cherry on top of Lubbesmeyer’s special night.

The Mudbugs will look for their fourth straight win tomorrow night as they’ll wrap up their season series this season against Wichita Falls. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm.
